As well as a rerelease of other Mega Man games on modern platforms.

Yesterday Capcom officially announced the next game in the Mega Man series, Mega Man 11, is in development and will come out in 2018. Capcom accompanied the announcement with a trailer which you can watch above.

The trailer shows off the history of the franchise throughout the years and once Mega Man comes to the year 2018, the trailer gives us gameplay of a few different stages for Mega Man 11. The art style blends hand-painted backgrounds with 3d character models while the gameplay sticks with the classic side-scrolling platforming action.

Additionally Capcom has announced that all eight Mega Man X games are coming to PC, Playstation 4, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch in summer of 2018 as the Mega Man X Collection.

The Japanese publisher will also be releasing Mega Man Legacy Collections 1 and 2 for the Nintendo Switch in 2018 with amiibo support. The Collections have already been released for PC, Playstation 4 and Xbox One, and together include Mega Man games from 1 to 10.
