"Don't you get it? I can't shoot her! The ESRB won't allow it!" "Don't you get it? I can't shoot her! The ESRB won't allow it!"

Melodramatic dialogue and all.

Detroit: Become Human had its roots in a tech demo designed to show off the power of a Playstation 3 but then evolved into its own thing after fans and the creator himself (David Cage) became interested in the focus of the demo, Kara. The game was officially announced during last year's PGS (Paris Games Show) where it appeared to show Kara as the main protagonist. Now, we're seeing that may no longer be true.

Focus shifts to another android named Conner, a hostage negotiator who appears to specifically deal with other androids. What follows is a breakdown of all the different ways the player's actions and choices can effect the overall outcome of the situation. Saying the right words can lead to minimal violence or to a bloody scene where nobody escapes unharmed. That combined with the shift in focus from Kara shows us that Detroit will have multiple protagonists whose stories will interweave with each other and that change depending on the actions you have the characters take. It's the style of game that Quantic Dream used to create a cult following with Fahrenheit (Indigo Prophecy in America) and Heavy Rain.

So in other words, David Cage is doing what David Cage does best. Only this time with less nude models of underage Ellen Paige.

Detroit: Become Human has no release date and will be Playstation 4 exclusive.

What do you think about Detroit having multiple protagonists? Are you a fan of David Cage's games? Enlighten us in the comments.
