The PC Gaming Show gave us release dates, new expansions and new game announcements.

XCOM2: War of the Chosen expansion (PC, PS4, Xbox One)

In an interview with creative director Jake Solomon, we found out the expansion will offer three new resistance factions. Each with their own philosophies and fighting styles. You will have to recruit them to XCOM cause in order to be able to play with them and gain their tech and unique personnel. The expansion will also add a new challenge in the form of lost cities that were abandoned during the alien invasion. These cities are now full of mutated humans that come at you endlessly in swarms and are drawn to the sounds of combat. They will attack both you and your enemies which will change up the combat dynamics. The expansion comes out on August 29th.

Ooblets (PC, Xbox One)


Animal Crossing inspired Ooblets was shown off with a new trailer. It's being developed by 2-person studio Glumberland and published by Double Fine. The game is set to come out in 2018.

Battletech (PC)

Developer Harebrained Schemes unveiled new footage for the singleplayer campaign of Battletech. The game was succesfully kickstarted back in 2015 and will offer three gamemodes: single-player skirmish, multiplayer skirmish, and an "open-ended mercenary campaign". The developer showed off singleplayer gameplay and a brief look at your ship's stations. Release is scheduled for late 2017.

Mount and Blade 2: Banner Lord (PC, PS4, Xbox One)

Developer Taleworlds showed off new gameplay footage of their sandbox RPG. The game is scheduled to release this year.

Total War: Warhammer 2 (PC)

In an interview with Creative Assembly's Al Bickham we found out that the game will have four races: High elves, Lizard men, Dark elves, and a fourth race that will be announced at a later date. The game will receive a free update after launch that will combine the campaign maps from both Total War: Warhammer games. The Real Time Strategy game will come out September 28th.

Tunic (PC)

The isometric adventure game previously know as Secret Legend was showed off with a new trailer and now has a new name, Tunic. The game is set to release in 2018 and will be published by Finji, who have previously published Night in the Woods.

PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds (PC, Xbox One)


Developer Bluehole announced some major new features for their game. The next update will bring the ability of climbing and vaulting obstacles, different weather conditions, a new gun and 2 new maps to the game.

Ylands (PC)

Bohemia Interactive, developers of Arma, announced their next gameĀ Ylands. It offers both single and multiplayer with exploring, crafting, and building. You can also create custom game modes and adventures through the game editor that is built right in. The game will come out later this year on Steam Early Access.

Griftlands (PC, PS4, Xbox One)

Klei Entertainment announced their new sci-fi turn-based RPG with a trailer that showed off combat, a dialogue system, possible recruiting of characters as well as betraying and selling recruits. The game is set to come out Early 2018.

Lone Echo & Echo Arena (Oculus Rift)

The Order 1886 developer, Ready At Dawn, showed off two new games during the show. Lone Echo, a singleplayer story that puts players in the role of an android, voiced by Troy Baker, who will need to work with a human astronaut to survive in space and Echo Arena, a multiplayer sports game that will be free for Oculus Rift owners. Both will be coming out July 20th.

Lawbreakers (PC, PS4)


Creative Director Cliff Bleszinski announced a release date and price for his multiplayer action game. Lawbreakers is coming out August 8th for $29.99. It will also have an Open Beta June 30th.

Wargroove (PC, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch)

Developer Chucklefish games showed off new footage of their Advance Wars inspired game. It will feature 12 campaigns and a campaign editor, which will give you the tools to build full, multi-stage campaigns - complete with custom levels, dialogue cutscenes and branching paths to follow. The custom campaigns will be available to share online with friends. Wargroove is set to come out this year.


Shadow of War (PC, PS4, Xbox One)

Monolith have showed off a cinematic trailer for Shadow of War which introduced Blade of Galadriel, a powerful Elf assassin who will be playable in one of the game's two planned expansions. The Blade of Galadriel has been sent to Mordor "to hunt down the Nazgul, and hunt down anyone corrupted by a Ring of Power," Monolith's Michael de Plater explained. It turns out that she's actually killed him, at least in part to test the truth of the tales that when he dies, he is reborn. The game comes out October 10th.


Age of Empires Definitive Edition (PC)

Adam Isgreen, creative director of Microsoft Studios announced the remastered version of Age of Empires with a trailer. The trailer shows off new features like upgraded 4K graphics, new zoom levels, improved gameplay, Xbox Live multiplayer and a fully remastered soundtrack.
