Square Enix announced today via Playstation Blog the release date for Lost Sphear, the next game from the developer of I Am Setsuna. The turn-based JRPG was announced back in May of this year and will feature an Active Time Battle combat system, similar to the one in I Am Setsuna.
"Lost Sphear is set in a world threatened by a mysterious phenomenon known as Lost,"states. "To combat the Lost, the power of Memory awakens within a young man named Kanata, giving hope to the people. As it is too dangerous for Kanata alone, his friends accompany him from his town of Elgarthe: Lumina, Locke and a mysterious person named Van."
It was also revealed that Kanata will be joined by a priestess named Sherra and Obaro, an elderly man who came back into existence upon the awakening of Kanata’s power.
If you preorder the game on Playstation 4 you will receive a dynamic "Memoirs of the Moon" theme along with two musical tracks, while Steam preorders will get a custom Lost Sphear wallpaper. The game will also have a retail release for the Playstation 4 and Switch versions of the game, that will come with it's own two exclusive bonus music tracks.
Lost Sphear is slated to come out January 23rd, 2018 for Playstation 4, Nintendo Switch and PC in Europe and North America.
