Swedish studio Image & Form Games announced the release date for the sequel to the platform mining Metroidvania Steamworld Dig with a trailer which you can watch above.
You play as a new dig-bot, searching for the missing protagonist of the first game, Rusty. The sequel will not use the first game's procedurally-generated design, instead opting for a directed metroidvania level design.
Steamworld Dig 2 will release on the Nintendo Switch on September 21st; on PC, Mac and Linux a few days later; and on Playstation 4 & Playstation Vita on September 26th.
If you want to try out the first Steamworld Dig, EA are currently offering it on their Origin On-The-House Deal which means you just need to log in into Origin and you can get the game for free.
